Rest is important following oral surgery and it is recommended for at least two days following the procedure. It is not recommended to engage in physical activity for two to three days after your surgery. Most patients are able to resume normal activities within 48 hours after surgery
Physical activity, including sports and exercise should only be performed with the use of a custom mouth splint during the first 2-4 months. Initial healing can be observed in the jaw over the course of 6 to 8 weeks, but you should allow your body to recover at a safe pace, allowing up to 4 months.
