World breastfeeding week is celebrated every year from 1to 7 August, to raise the significant awareness on the importance of breastfeeding among women. Premier Hospital celebrates world breastfeeding week every year to educate people about the lifelong and positive health effects of breastfeeding on both mother and newborn baby. Why Celebrate World Breastfeeding Week Breast milk is the first natural food which helps the newborn with the energy and nutrients that are needed for the early months of life. Keeping this in view, the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) started celebrating World Breastfeeding Week in the year 1992. Now, this day is celebrated in more than 120 countries to promote the benefits of breastfeeding to women and children.
