Children's health is a vital topic to tread upon and especially when it comes to the health of their precious eyes. We don't need to stress much on the importance of eyes, as they are by far one of the most valuable parts not just for adults, but also for children. Did you know children learn around 80% through visuals as part of their education in most parts of the world, more so in India, and eyes are the critical aspect to understand visuals? Be it education or some other element, eyes are crucial, and while children have a much sharper pair of eyes than some of us today, it is imperative we take care of it, in the best way possible and detect any potentially threatening problems early on. Premier Hospital wants to make everyone around understand the importance of eyes and hence is taking an active part in spreading awareness as part of the Children's Eye Health and Safety Month, that is August. What is this awareness all about? Children might be facing issues with their eyes which parents or guardians might not be aware of, and problems, especially with the eye rise early. It is essential to identify and diagnose these many problems and bring about comprehensive solutions for them to be treated. It is at this young age, that constant rubbing of the eyes could lead to vision problems, or sometimes it is observed that children tilt their head to look at objects as well as some suffer from wandering or squeezing eyes. The awareness is designed in a way to help parents to observe and consult with us as early as possible to solve eye problems in their child. Diagnosing a problem early is vital, as at times some symptoms do not appear for years altogether. Children could potentially suffer from multiple issues such as colour deficiency, colour blindness, strabismus, amblyopia or the many refractive errors. These problems have solutions, and we would be more than happy to improve the child's life. What about Eye Safety? As much as eye health for children is essential, Eye Safety has an equal place in total eye care. Children are action-packed and have a higher chance of sustaining any injury to the eye. Of the many injuries they support, 90% of it could be prevented, with the right kind of awareness and care. We are with the idea of making parents aware of the potential injuries their child could sustain and hence advice them to monitor the way their child's eye could be protected. Protective wear, especially while playing sports could prevent so many potential problems for instance. At Premier Hospital, we will provide with comprehensive solutions and knowledge as to how they can avoid any potential dangers to their child's eye and help them understand the same. World Children's Eye Health and Safety Month is a great initiative, celebrated worldwide and has been responsible for spreading valuable awareness to parents and guardians on how to help their children have better future with their eyes. Premier Hospital has been part of the bandwagon for some time now and is hoping to raise awareness and help as much as possible to help children with their eye health and safety. About The Hospital: Since the inception of Premier Hospital in 1991 till today, we have grown to unprecedented levels, due to our excellence in medical sciences and healthcare. Premier Hospital is the creation of Dr Mahesh Marda and when it was first established, was only a small, 30-bed hospital facility. Back then, we provided only secondary care to patients, but that certainly has changed in the present landscape.
